Overview
Paragliding offers a memorable view of Himachal’s mountain landscapes, with Bir Billing the best-known destination in Kangra district. Tandem flights allow visitors to experience flying with an instructor, but every flight depends on weather, equipment, operator decisions and the participant’s suitability.
Before you book
- Choose a recognised operator with appropriately qualified pilots and maintained equipment.
- Confirm what the price includes, meeting point, weight or health requirements and cancellation terms.
- Follow all pre-flight instructions and disclose relevant medical or mobility concerns.
- Do not pressure a pilot to fly if conditions are unsuitable.
Best season and conditions
Spring and autumn are often useful periods for outdoor activities, but conditions change by day. Wind, visibility, rain and other factors can stop flights at short notice. Confirm current operating conditions locally rather than assuming a booking guarantees a flight.
Where to experience it
Bir Billing is the most widely known location in Himachal for tandem paragliding. Explore the Bir village and nearby Kangra destinations as part of the same trip, and allow a flexible day in case weather changes.
